Counselling Services
Welcome!
Blue Iris Counselling Services strives to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space to feel seen and heard, to explore yourself, and to make steps to live a better quality of life through counselling services provided by Elizabeth Edmondson, MSW, RSW.
Why Blue Iris? The blue iris flower symbolizes hope. Plants, like the iris flower, also reflect growth. It is hoped that through these services, you feel empowered and hopeful to grow, to heal, and to make positive changes to meet your personalized goals and to take steps to live your best life.
The colour blue is also often viewed as a calming, soothing colour, which is also what is hoped the counselling experience is for you.

About
Elizabeth Edmondson, MSW, RSW (She/Her)
Elizabeth has worked in the social work field for 14 years and brings a variety of training, knowledge, and lived experience to her practice, as well as genuineness, warmth, compassion, curiosity, and attunement. She uses a relational, trauma-informed approach and draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches (please see the Services section below for more information). Elizabeth may use a combination of talk therapy and mind-body approaches tailored to meet your unique needs.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Windsor with a Psychology with Thesis degree (2009) and with a Master of Social Work degree (2011). Elizabeth calls herself a never-ending learner and strives to continue to grow her counselling skills and knowledge by engaging in a variety of professional development activities.
In addition to being a social worker, Elizabeth is also a mother and a wife. In her spare time, she enjoys having fun with her family and friends, engaging in physical activities (such as Pilates, swimming, and paddle boarding), singing/taking vocal lessons, reading, playing board games, and enjoying the outdoors/being in nature.
What will the counselling process be like?
We will go at your own pace, and I will be happy to answer any and all of your questions that you may have along the way. We will discuss some of the concerns that bring you to counselling, as well as explore and learn more about you and your unique inner world. Together, we will collaborate on developing personalized counselling goals/a treatment plan for you that is reflective of your counselling needs and preferences. There are a variety of therapeutic approaches that can be used (please feel free to see the Services section below for more information), and whether you prefer a more flexible or a more structured approach, I try to tailor the therapeutic experience to your needs and preferences. Together, we can explore what works for you.
